Our Stories
COVID-19 Response
In this time of uncertainty and fear, we place ourselves, our families and loved ones and the ministry of InterVarsity in God’s hands. We pray for health professionals and scientists, for leaders in government, church and all institutions. May God bring healing and hope to all nations. As followers of Jesus may we all find ways daily to serve and love those to whom we are close, and especially, the stranger.
The foundation of our ministry is to welcome people to come together — usually in groups. We do this in high schools, colleges and universities and we do it at our nine camps. Like everyone else, we now face many restrictions to ministry. We fully support the government’s call to social distancing as a way to slow down the spread of the virus and we are praying for innovative ways to support people so they do not feel isolated and alone.
Please pray that our spring campus MARK events and all our summer camp programs will be able to go forward. Camp is a place that eases anxiety and brings joy to children, teens and young adults. In the months to come we believe people will need restorative places to heal and recover more than ever. We would love to be able to welcome them into fellowship at the places God has provided so generously to us across Canada.
