Nikki Holwerda

Nikki is a self-professed “camp kid,” having spent her childhood tagging along with her wrangler dad and camp nurse mom. She fell in love with Jesus on the back of a horse, singing worship songs and listening to testimonies shared around the campfire. That love stayed with her through her growing-up years as she served as a summer counsellor throughout high school and college. Fast forward 30 years, a long career as a private music teacher and as an office administrator/medical transcriptionist and billing specialist—and here she is, thrilled to pieces to be serving at Pioneer Pacific Camp! Her love of Jesus, people, and data has finally merged.
When Nikki isn’t on Thetis Island, she lives in Chilliwack, BC with her husband of 30 years. They’re on the verge of an empty nest, with the youngest of their four kids soon to graduate. Nikki loves music and anything crafty—her current joy is crochet, though she’s happy doing just about anything as long as she can do it with others.
