World Student Day of Prayer

On October 16, 2025 InterVarsity unites with thousands of other students, staff, and supporters across the world to participate in the 50th anniversary of IFES global prayer days. This year, we are guided by the Apostle Paul’s perspective in Ephesians 3: 20-21, celebrating how God has exceeded what we’ve “asked or imagined” and to seek “him who is able to do immeasurably more”.

Let’s enter into joyful thanksgiving for the multitude of students who’ve personally encountered Christ, for the thousands of universities impacted by student witness, for the many more countries that now have a thriving IFES movement. And let’s pray with expectant faith for countless more lives, campuses, and communities to be transformed through “God’s power at work within us”.

Ways to host prayer on World Student Day

Want to host a prayer event, but don’t know where to start? We got you! Pick and choose from the options below and get inspired to dream up what prayer can look like in your local setting.

Here’s one example of how it could come together

  • Book a room on campus for 2 hours
  • Have someone lead in worship for 1 hour
  • Local Student Focus: Pray with joy, Thanksgiving and expectant faith for God to work powerfully on campus
  • Global Student Focus – NIFES: Print out prayer cards (see button below) and images of student groups from Nigeria (look them up on socials!). Spend the last 30 minutes of your event leading worship in English and Yoruba.
    • ✨ Don’t forget to post and tag InterVarsity Canada so that we can repost you! ✨
