A volume of 150 pieces of dense Hebrew poetry and art can feel pretty daunting. But perhaps the book of Psalms, created by individuals trying to make sense of what God was up to in the world, is just what we need in these uncertain times. Honest and authentic, the Psalms capture the human experience – ranging from raw sorrow and messy anger to beautiful celebrations and hope filled promises. In this six-week introductory module, we will explore the ways in which the Psalms teach us how to pray through our emotions and experiences in the presence of God. Each week we will meditate on a Psalm and creatively respond individually and communally through various artistic mediums. No experience necessary – come ready to explore your creativity.
