2025 Ministry Snapshot

2025 Ministry Snapshot

God moved in transformative ways in 2025. Campers and students made life-changing decisions to follow Jesus, young leaders stepped up to serve, and hundreds heard the Gospel for the very first time.
In the hallways of high schools, campuses across the country, and at every one of our camps, God showed up and revealed Himself.
This Ministry Snapshot shares just a glimpse of the impact that InterVarsity’s staff, volunteers, and young leaders made in the lives of emerging generations. We are so grateful for your ongoing support – your partnership makes our ministry possible.

CAMP MINISTRY ⛺

A Bible for of Colour

“Last summer during Session 5, I had a camper named Grace. When she mentioned she didn’t have a Bible, we got her one, and at staff night I spent time highlighting verses and adding encouraging notes. She spent the rest of the week reading eagerly, and I continued praying that this new habit would grow after she went home.
A year later, as we prepared for Session 5 again, I was thrilled to see her name on my camper list. When she arrived, the first thing she did was show me her Bible—now filled with new highlighted verses—along with her favorite one from Joel. She asked for more verses, so we sat together and walked through the Romans, talking about the Gospel with such peace and curiosity.
Though I had to leave early that week, I’m continuing to pray that God will keep working in her life, and I look forward to seeing how her faith continues to grow.”
– Liv, Camp Leader

A Simple Yes at Campfire

“During the second week of camp, one long-time camper arrived feeling unsure about Jesus and wanting to go home. One night she struggled to fall asleep, so I stayed up with her reading stories and chatting. She wasn’t open to prayer at first, but as she grew more comfortable, she began asking thoughtful questions about faith.
I sensed God nudging me simply to listen and be present, showing her the unconditional love of Jesus through patience and care. As the week went on, she asked for a Bible, eagerly joined in worship, and continued exploring who God is.
On the final night at campfire, she approached me and asked if I would pray for her. Even though I felt nervous, I trusted God to guide my words. It was a beautiful moment of watching her heart open to experiencing God’s love for herself.”

Questions That Made Space

“One of the highlights from campus ministry this fall was our new International Camp! On the Sunday morning of the camp, we hosted an optional service before breakfast. Here, we sang songs of worship & thanksgiving and looked into scripture together. Afterwards, some of the non-Christian students stayed after the service to ask some more questions about scripture, what a church service is like, and even showed interest in joining a Bible study once back on campus! Two of the women who showed interest in studying scripture for the first time, have since been studying scripture weekly on their campus with the InterVarsity staff.”
– Nyssa, BC Campus Director

A Home Away From Home

“Because of the strike, it was more challenging to find bookable space on campus for our Thanksgiving event. However, we still were able to host 65 people for a thanksgiving meal – the large majority being international students with some Canadian students that couldn’t get home. Each year, this event reminds us of the countless times Jesus provided extraordinary hospitality as a way of opening doors to his ministry and teachings. We have met new friends and are actively inviting them to be part of our community and find a “home away from home” with us. They might not yet know that Jesus is the source of the “home” they feel, but we do! As the Spirit leads, we will share the Good News of Jesus with them in other ways too.”
– Cristy, Campus Minister

HIGH SCHOOL MINISTRY 📚

Invited to the Table

“One student-led club in Calgary has faced practical difficulties with gaining official school club status, such as finding a safe space to meet. However, these students persevered and began meeting informally as friends who want to sit together at lunch and happen to be discussing Scripture, faith, and life together. A classmate of theirs who comes from an Islamic background needed somewhere to sit and found a place at their table. He is now invested in attending each week. Younger students, not initially part of the original friend group, gravitated towards their table because they are hungry for fellowship and faith. God is at work inviting students to the table.”
– Sharmaine, High School Staff

An Incredible Answer to Prayer!

“This fall we got to witness God move in such a joyful and unmistakable way. Chris, who has been faithfully involved for three years, stepped into leading his school’s InterVarsity group. But there was a roadblock: no teacher sponsor meant no club. He had already asked multiple teachers, and every single one had said no. At our monthly student leader  gathering, he invited students from other schools to pray with bold hope. The very next day he emailed me saying that two teachers had reached out saying they could sponsor the club! Now they are meeting each week, friends are learning about Jesus for the first time, and Chris is leading with renewed confidence. We’re celebrating God’s provision, His perfect timing, and the way He is shaping young leaders right in their schools!”

LAUNCH (POST-GRAD) 🚀

Not Facing the Transition Alone

“Launch in Ottawa has been a steady anchor for me in this strange transition from school into the workplace. Being surrounded by other young adults navigating the same season has been deeply encouraging, and it’s helped me see more clearly how God defines work and calls us into purpose. It has genuinely been a source of strength and hope for me.”
– Peace, Launch Participant

Making Space for What Comes Next

“The season following graduation is inevitably a jarring one. The work of InterVarsity Launch has created spaces where recent grads can walk into the unknown arm in arm with other believers, figuring out together how to follow Jesus in the real world.”
Valerie, Launch Coordinator
